Located in Florida’s Great Northwest, WaterSound Beach is beautifully situated right on the Gulf of Mexico.
Beyond the gates of West Beach runs a stretch of road called Scenic Highway 30-A, an 18-mile road that hugs the coastline with a variety of arts, culture and dining opportunities. Few roads are as beautiful or as much fun to explore.  From 30-A to Fort Walton Beach on the West to Panama City to the East, there are many cultural, sports and educational events to enjoy.

Scenic Highway 30A hosts a variety of town festivals celebrating food, wineand crafts throughout the year. Nearby Destin hosts an array of fishing contests and more than 100 festivals each year, many focused on the region’s most bountiful treasure — seafood.

Near WaterSound Beach, you can dine on award-winning cuisine in sophisticated restaurants or seek out funky oyster shacks up and down Scenic Highway 30-A. Or, drive down to neighboring WaterColor for a night out at Fish Out of Water. Selected by Florida Trend Magazine as one of Florida’s top 400 restaurants, Fish Out of Water offers an eclectic menu and a refreshing selection of wines. For reservations, call 850-534-5050.

From down home Southern cooking to romantic candlelit restaurants, there are a variety of options to please every palate in the Destin-Ft. Walton area. Panama City Beach offers every type of cuisine, from Southern and Cajun to South American to Mexican, Chinese, French and Italian — and, of course, fresh local seafood with the best offerings from the Gulf. When the sun goes down, Panama City Beach has all the action of a big city, but with a laid-back, Southern flair.

Along the Gulf, nature is a constant inspiration and many artists live and work in the WaterSound area. Just stroll by the shops and galleries in Grayton Beach, WaterColor and Seaside and you will often see displays of work by local artists. The 30-A and Panama City Beach area offers a unique glimpse of culture and the arts. If you keep your eyes and ears open, there is so much to experience in this culturally rich region.
