Spend a three-day weekend embracing the culinary legacy of Florida's Gulf Coast with Chef Chris Hastings, culinary advisor to JOE and owner of Birmingham's acclaimed Hot and Hot Fish Club.
Chef Hastings has designed an intimate weekend package designed for up to 12 visitors to accompany him in tonging for oysters and casting nets for shrimp -- side by side with local fishermen. With the Chef as your guide, you'll enjoy gathering Tupelo honey, picking blue crabs and smoking mullet - and dining in local fish shacks and the region's most notable high end restaurants, including WaterColor's Fish Out of Water.
Accommodations include two nights at The WaterColor Inn (ranked the #1 hotel in Florida by readers of Travel + Leisure, Jan. 2007) and one night at the Coombs House, a quaint bed and breakfast in the historic town of Apalachicola. Price, per participant, $1750 and is all inclusive of activities, lodging, planned meals, and gratuity (a special rate is offered for couples). Transportation will not be provided. Guests will receive detailed maps and directions prior to arrival. Click here for itinerary and details.
