The new Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport will provide on demand customs and immigrations services 365 days a year.

Portions of the new airport site as well as adjacent land owned by The St. Joe Company (NYSE: JOE) are seeking designation as a new Foreign Trade Zone to accommodate domestic and international manufacturers and distributors.

Port Panama City

Port Panama City

There are several economical connections between West Bay, the new airport site and Port Panama City, a deepwater port.

Port Panama City is strategically located as the northernmost port in the Gulf of Mexico.  The port has six berths with 4,200 feet of deepwater berthing, a mean water depth of 36 feet, four transit sheds (totaling 270,000 square feet), and six acres of open storage on site.

It is equipped with modem loading and unloading facilities for truck, rail, barge, container, RO-RO vessel and deepwater vessel traffic.  The Gulf Intracoastal Waterway is located adjacent to the port and offers Intracoastal shipment capability via barge.

Port Panama City rates among the most economical ports on the Gulf of Mexico and East Coast region.  With incentives available through Foreign Trade Zone 65 (FTZ 65), the port represents an attractive and cost-effective transportation alternative.

Located at Port Panama City, FTZ 65 is recognized as a "manufacturing" FTZ. FTZ 65 is one of the nation’s most successful foreign trade zones.  With over 300 acres designated with FTZ status, Port Panama City is available for national and international companies with manufacturing, large assembly and product modification operations.

Rail and Highway Connections

Rail and Highway Connections

The Bay Line, owned by Genesee & Wyoming, provides five-day-a-week freight service connecting from Port Panama City to CSX in Cottondale, Florida and Dothan, Alabama, and to Norfolk Southern in Dothan, Alabama.  These stations provide competitive connections to Atlanta, the mideastern and northeastern United States.

JOE’s project at West Bay is located near major U.S. and Interstate highways.  I-10 is located approximately 27 miles (43 kilometers) to the north.  U.S. Highway 98 is approximately 9 miles (14 kilometers) to the south.  U.S. Highway 231 is approximately 22 miles (35 kilometers) to the east.  The Florida Department of Transportation's long-range plans include a four-lane connector to I-10.
