Capturing panoramic views of the Gulf, the private WaterSound Beach Club is designed to be your private club. The secluded setting invites you to unwind and relax, whether enjoying the ocean breezes at the upstairs bar or comfortably settled in a lounge chair under a cabana. The only things between you and the Gulf of Mexico are a pair of lounge chairs and an umbrella beckoning you to venture down to one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. It's sure to be a place where traditions will continue for generations.

Membership and/or access to the WaterSound Beach Club is limited to owners in select JOE communities and guests renting vacation homes through WaterSound Vacations, and is subject to limitations. The membership documents, dues and fees may change without notice.

Dining with a View

Gather around the table to savor the bounty of the Gulf and a seasonal array of the freshest local ingredients in a variety of unique waterfront settings. Depending on the catch of the day, grilled cobia, Apalachicola oysters and Florida hoppers might be combined with seasonal salads and summer vegetables for an inviting blend of textures and tastes. Casual poolside dining is fun and relaxing, either under an oversized umbrella or on the cloistered veranda, animated with flowing draperies that blow in the breeze.

Step inside the beachside grill, where ceilings are double height to give an added sense of volume, while cypress paneling lends intimacy and scale. A wall of windows floods the space with natural light from morning to afternoon and brings the outside indoors.

Amenities in Concert with the Natural Setting

Enjoy the 7,000-square-foot swimming pool, with its pleasing free form and zero entry, echoing the flow of the dunes and beach. Fanciful turtle sculptures let you know that life is not meant to be taken too seriously.

Lounge on the pool deck in the sun or under shaded arbors. The Beach Club's southern orientation toward the Gulf takes advantage of prevailing breezes in the summer and warm sunshine in mild winter months.

Perfect your tennis game on two private Har-Tru HydroCourts complete with design touches that enhance the playing experience. Tennis lessons are available. Rejuvenate in the elegant private locker rooms. Ladies' and men's locker rooms bring the outdoors inside with sea-glass tile benches and private individual wooden lockers. Shower facilities and changing areas allow you to freshen up before heading home or out shopping.

Architectural Inspiration: North Meets South

The Beach Club was conceived in accord with its spectacular setting – a natural place where every vista focuses on the glorious coastal landscape and expansive Gulf of Mexico. Like coastal landmarks from Nags Head to Narragansett, the WaterSound Beach Club responds to the unique climate and geography of its locale.

Designed by Dungan & Nequette Architects, the Beach Club comprises a series of related structures that echo the scale and proportions of traditional waterfront buildings. Shed dormers animate the sweeping pitched roofline of each structure. Timeless coastal architecture merges with the flavor of grand Northeastern shingle-style homes and hotels and regional Florida vernacular to create an architectural language with a decidedly Southern accent responsive to this time and place. The Beach Club captures the essence of waterfront resorts of the past while creating a memorable place that celebrates how extended families and friends live today and gather together for seaside holidays.
