WaterColor Inn & Resort kicks off 2009 with a trio of awards from AAA, Condé Nast Traveler and Travel + Leisure

Santa Rosa Beach, FL (February 10, 2009) - WaterColor Inn & Resort continues to set the bar high as the only hotel in Northwest Florida to earn AAA’s coveted Four Diamond rating in 2009.  In addition, the 60-room David Rockwell-designed resort was named to Condé Nast Traveler’s prestigious 2009 “Gold List” of top hotels, resorts and cruise lines, and earned a coveted spot on Travel + Leisure’s “T+L 500” guide to the “World’s Best Hotels.”

This is the second year in a row that WaterColor earned the AAA, Condé Nast Traveler and Travel + Leisure distinctions.  It is also the second year running that the hotel’s signature restaurant Fish Out of Water also received an AAA Four Diamond rating.

“I couldn’t be more proud of our warm, welcoming and talented staff,” said WaterColor Inn & Resort General Manager Eric Sather. “Every day they go above and beyond to ensure a seamless experience for our guests.  From reception to room service, housekeeping and the bell desk, they truly take pride in their work, and it shows.”

Hotels included in Travel + Leisure’s “T+L 500” guide and Condé Nast Traveler’s “Gold List” are chosen by the magazines’ readers, who fill out detailed surveys rating properties on everything from décor and service to dining and amenities. AAA conducts its own private inspections of hotels, with Five Diamonds their highest rating.

WaterColor Inn & Resort is an enchanting getaway on the white sand beaches of Northwest Florida’s scenic Emerald Coast.  Accommodations range from the intimate, WaterColor Inn, which has the relaxed feel of a chic beach home, to the resort’s 140 charming rental homes (one to seven bedrooms), many overlooking the beach or Western Lake.

Catering to guests of all ages, WaterColor offers numerous amenities and special activities, including a Beach Club, several swimming pools, Tennis Center, spa, and Camp WaterColor for kids. Complimentary bicycles, kayaks and canoes make it easy for guests to traverse the resort’s woodland trail system, ride into the neighboring town of Seaside and explore Western Lake, a rare coastal dune lake.  For golfers, there is the Tom Fazio-designed Camp Creek Golf Club, the Greg Norman-designed Shark’s Tooth Golf Club, and the Origins course designed for family and short play.

Dining at WaterColor’s highly acclaimed Fish Out of Water restaurant, overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, is a treat not to be missed. Chef de Cuisine Philip Krajeck is passionate about using locally sourced and organic ingredients in his dishes. In fact, it is a passion that has driven him to create special seasonal “Farm Dinners” where local purveyors, such as cheese makers and organic farmers, come to speak about their products while guests enjoy dining on them.
