SOUTHERN LIVING IDEA HOUSE AT JOE'S WATERSOUND WINS 2008 AURORA AWARD

NEWS RELEASE

WaterSound, Florida (August 21, 2008) - The St. Joe Company announced today that its Southern Living Idea Home, located in the WaterSound residential community, was selected as an award winner in the 2008 Aurora Awards competition sponsored by the Southeast Building Conference. The home, designed by Looney, Ricks, Kiss Architects of Memphis, Tenn., and built by Haven Custom Homes of Ridgeland, won in the detached single-family-home category for homes priced between $1 million and $1.5 million.

Inspired by historic coastal maritime architecture, the two-story home combines the comfort of a vacation home with thoughtful features that suit the versatile lifestyles of today's families. Located on one of WaterSound's premier lots, the home faces the community's Origins golf course, designed by Davis Love III. The home's 3,600 square feet of interior space includes three bedrooms and four baths, plus a bunk room. The spacious kitchen flows into the dining and living areas, which provide open space for social gatherings and entertaining. Another 800 square feet are dedicated to an expansive wraparound front porch with deep overhangs, facing open park spaces.

"We are extremely honored that the Southeast Building Conference selected the Southern Living Idea Home at WaterSound out of entries from more than 10 southeastern states," said Tom Dodson, JOE's vice president of sales, West Florida Region. "The home represents the best in construction, design and amenities that WaterSound has to offer."

Chris Haley, project manager at Looney, Ricks, Kiss Architects, described the inspiration behind the home's design as "creating both public and private relationships with the outdoors by designing the living room to face outdoor park-like amenities, the breakfast room to face the golf course, and an alcove surrounded by windows to permit lots of sunlight and pine forest views outside."

Stephen Bassett, Haven Custom Homes executive vice president, notes that as a modular home, the Southern Living Idea House was produced and finished off-site in less than 180 days, a process that that would take up to 15 months on-site. "We can produce homes that are developed in sections off-site in a dry, climate-controlled indoor environment, which protects the construction from possible inclement weather conditions," said Bassett. "The entire process is cleaner, less invasive and more environmentally friendly to build."

The award was presented at the official Aurora Awards gala on Saturday, Aug. 2, at the Rosen Centre Hotel in Orlando. For more details on the Aurora Awards, visit www.theauroras.com.
