SouthWood Hosts Second Annual "Wheels At Work" Event For Families, Saturday, March 21
Tallahassee, FL. (March 12, 2009) – The St. Joe Company's SouthWood community announced today that it will hold a "Wheels at Work" event for families on Saturday, March 21. This interactive event will allow families to see different specialty vehicles up close, including a fire truck, an ambulance, a Harley Davidson Motorcycle, and a Bear Cat SWAT Team vehicle used by the Tallahassee Police Department.
An event highlight will be the AirMedic2 helicopter landing at 11:00 A.M. Participants will then be able to view the helicopter. Throughout the morning, parents can register their children for Conley Elementary School's 2009-10 school year and learn about the school's International Baccalaureate (I.B.) program. The Tallahassee Crime Prevention Unit will also be on hand creating 'ID' fingerprint cards for children free of charge.
"Last year's 'Wheels at Work' was a tremendous success thanks to SouthWood working closely with the City of Tallahassee, the police and fire departments and other local businesses," said Bill Wier, Vice President of SouthWood. "We're grateful to be cooperating with them again this year to organize this fun event for the families of SouthWood and the Tallahassee community."
The event will take place at SouthWood's Woodland Fields neighborhood, near the intersection of Four Oaks Boulevard and Orange Avenue, on Saturday, March 21, from 10:30 A.M.-1:00 P.M. Hot dogs and hamburgers from Coach's Sports Kitchen will be available to purchase on site. Free ice cream will also be available from Schwann's.
