September 11, 2010: The Down Syndrome Association of Tallahassee will host their 5th Annual Buddy Walk in SouthWood's Town Center. The walk, which is a celebration of people with Down syndrome, promotes the acceptance and inclusion of all people with Down syndrome. The event also raises money to increase awareness and education for local families, caregivers, medical and educational professionals in the big bend area.

April 19, 2010: Have fun for a good cause in the Big Bend Saltwater Classic Golf Tournament taking place at the SouthWood Golf Club. All proceeds derived from this event will be used to expand and develop a system of artificial reefs in the Northeastern Gulf of Mexico by The Organization for Artificial Reefs, Inc., a non-profit, marine interest group.
