Exciting News from SouthWood! We are pleased to announce that Premier Construction & Development, one of Tallahassee's most recognized homebuilders, will soon be constructing their award-winning certified green product in SouthWood's Strolling Meadows neighborhood, located near the intersection of Biltmore Avenue and SouthWood Plantation Road. Premier has been in business for over 20 years and they have developed a reputation for quality service and craftsmanship.
Their SouthWood floor plan and home designs will be available soon. As previously mentioned, Premier has recently shifted to building green certified homes. They are pleased to offer green certified homes that include the Florida Green Building Coalition (FGBC) and ENERGY STAR stamps of approval. ENERGY STAR Rated homes focus on the energy efficiency of the home, while homes that meet the Florida Green Building Coalition's certification standards encompass all aspects of the building process.
ENERGY STAR approved homes feature Low-E Windows, Energy Star Appliances, Energy Star Lighting Packages, Air Conditioning units that have higher SEER Ratings, and insulation that can block heat loss in the winter and heat gain in the summer.
In order for a home to be certified by the Florida Green Building Coalition, homes must pass a thorough list of green qualifications categorized into six different groups ranging from construction materials to overall land health of the homesite. The reasoning behind Premier Construction using FGBC's green certification is due to the system being designed for the different climates of Florida.
Premier Construction & Development was created by the Ghazvini family, led by the visionary Mehrdad "Pepper" Ghazvini. Pepper built this company by understanding the true American Dream. He himself immigrated to America in the mid 1970's. He later joined forces with his longtime friend and local custom builder Tom Asbury. Together, through the years they made great strides in helping families in Tallahassee find the home of their dreams. Premier endured the loss of Pepper Ghazvini in 2007 but his dream is still the foundation of all Premier's new home designs. The legacy continues under the leadership of Tom Asbury, Jason Ghazvini (Pepper's Son), Steve Ghazvini, Kristina Petrandis and the latest addition Thomas Asbury, Jr..
The Premier Team's dedication to building high-quality, but yet affordable green homes in the Tallahassee community continues to gain recognition as they received seven different awards at the 2010 Tallahassee Builders Association Parade of Homes, including two gold awards and the Realtors Choice award for their Thomasville Road Model Center.
