When The Conley School @ SouthWood needs someone to help tutor children, she is there to help. If the administration is falling behind in their office work and they need help catching up, they know whom to call. If it’s a busy day in the lunch room and another watchful eye is needed, the lunch crew knows where to turn.
Meet Linda Rosendahl, Instructional Assistant at The Conley School @ SouthWood. Deservingly so, Linda is known as the “jack of all trades” at Conley, but is known to the students as “Coach Linda” because she assists Coach Adams with physical education activities.”
Linda’s journey to Conley and SouthWood began when her son convinced her to move from the busy South Florida to Tallahassee to be closer to him and her two grandchildren. Her son wanted her in the same town so she didn’t have to continue to travel from West Palm Beach to Tallahassee to visit. “My son said to me, ‘I’ve found this community you’re going to love.’”
“I fell in love with SouthWood from the first moment I saw it,” exclaims Linda. The rest is history. Soon after, Linda purchased a new townhome from Beazer Homes.
Linda lives a very active lifestyle as two of her favorite hobbies are playing tennis and hiking. Her townhome is located about a block away from The YMCA at SouthWood, of which she recently joined. SouthWood’s Central Park and Lake, its tennis courts and miles of walking trails are only a few more blocks away as well. “It’s great having such easy access to these wonderful amenities,” Linda says proudly.
Her journey to Conley is nearly as interesting as her move from West Palm Beach to SouthWood. She moved into her Beazer townhome in September 2007 and about two months later Conley Elementary Principal Ray King announced this top-tier school was coming to the SouthWood community at a standing-room-only meeting at SouthWood Golf Club. Linda heard about this presentation and thanks to her experience in the Palm Beach County school system, she thought she would be a great fit at Conley. Armed with her resume in hand, she approached Ray King. Over the next few months, Rosendahl’s persistence wowed King and she landed a job as an Instructional Assistant.
“I love watching children learn the little things. Watching a ball bounce may not be a big deal to older people, but when a young child sees a ball bounce for the first time, their eyes just light up!” Her passion for helping young children succeed is unmatched and she is so happy to be living in SouthWood. “I love SouthWood because I feel comfortable and safe,” Linda states.
