Florida Black Bear Program Held in the St. James Island Events Room

SummerCamp Beach's St. James Island Events Room recently hosted a Florida black bear talk, courtesy of the Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve. The talk educated folks on a variety of topics about the Florida black bear. Thanks to this session, attendees left with a better understanding of how to safely coexist with these unique animals.

  • Consequences of feeding bears
  • Tips to keep bears from wandering on your property
  • What to do if you encounter a Florida black bear
  • Interesting facts about the Florida black bear
