Awards and Certificates

Over the past decade, JOE has won dozens of awards and received many certifications for its efforts to preserve and protect the best of Florida. Some recent awards and certifications include:

2007: The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission

welcomed the St. Joe Company's WindMark Beach as the first member of Florida's Wildlife Friendly program.

Council for Sustainable Florida

honored the St. Joe Company with its Promising Practices Award for its leadership in this large-scale conservation planning effort.

Firewise Communities USA

welcomed the St. Joe Company's SummerCamp Beach community as a member of the Firewise Community Certification Program.

Audubon International

is in the process of certifying each JOE golf course at SouthWood, Camp Creek, St. Johns and Victoria Park as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary.

2006: Audubon of Florida

honored JOE with its first-ever Forest Steward of the Year Award.

Florida Department of Environmental Protection

welcomed The St. Joe Company's WaterColor Inn as a member of Florida's Green Lodging program.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service

honored JOE Biologist Jim Moyers with the Red-cockaded Woodpecker Recovery Award for JOE's leadership in the redcockaded woodpecker recovery efforts.

Florida Division of Forestry

awarded The St. Joe Company with its Community Wildfire Protection Plan Certification for JOE lands in Bay County. The certification was the first in Florida.

Firewise Communities USA

welcomed The St. Joe Company's RiverCamps on Crooked Creek community as a member of the Firewise Community Certification Program.

2005: U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service

honored JOE with a Regional Director's Conservation Award for innovation in protecting the natural resources of Northwest Florida with the Regional General Permit and Ecosystem Management Agreement, specifically working with state and federal agencies on a plan to protect the West Bay and Choctawhatchee Bay watersheds and associated wetlands.
